Thermocol is a thermally slender plastic made up of polystyrene. It can be inflated as a very large form that contains air bubbles. Polystyrene is a synthetic polymer known as thermocol. It is useful in thermal insulation. Large amount of thermocol is used in applications such as packaging, insulation, crockery items such as cups, plates, for making models, decorations, etc. Thermocol (Styrofoam) is expanded polystyrene with more than 97-98% air tapped in it. It is good shock-absorber, absorbs the jerk from the external environment and prevents it from breaking. In addition to that, it is light weight, durable and resists moisture. Thus, thermocol is used to pack delicate items.
